Aneela Ansari
Aneela Khursheed is a Visual artist from Quetta. She received a Bachelors in Fine Arts from University of Baluchistan in 2010 and an MA (hons) in Visual Arts from NCA in 2012. Her basic and major concerns were in sculptures and installation art.
Her work has been exhibited in several group shows and served as a visiting lecturer at NCA as well. She went on an exchange program (Art for Social Change) to the USA in 2013, organized by Meridian Center and Phillips Collection.
In her art practice she depicts the reality of her society through her work to create Distortion-the illusion of reality. This concept was informed through her research into the kind of defacement that is inflicted on acid-burn victims in Pakistan. By using a mirror as a medium she makes the viewer confront and see self-distortion.
