Shahzad Tanveer

Shahzad Tanveer Sufi born in 1982 in Faisalabad, he completed his studies in law in 2007 from the Punjab Law College, Lahore. Since then is a lawyer as well as administrator MA (Hons.) Visual Art, since 2017 to date as Deputy Registrar Academics at the National College of Arts, Lahore, Pakistan. As a law practitioner and working in the surrounding of creative personnel’s, he began his art practice initially by photography and video in 2011. As law as his field or way of expression so he started creating a bridge between law and art. For him, his art practice is like a legal case map which started from one particular day / date with an issue between the parties, till its verdict came from the court. He is reinterpreting these case documents as a surface for his art works which shows the relation of art and law. He was one of the 10participating artists from Pakistan and 10 from United Kingdom (U.K)for a collaborative group show between Pakistan and London named as “SLICE LAHORE LONDON” project. He is the author of two books, “Pakistani Civil Drafting & Pleading” in 2012 and second edition in 2016, and “How to Draft Deeds & Documents” in 2013. He has also written various articles Published in Monthly Legal Affairs, Lahore-Pakistan and many write ups in quarterly NCA Newsletters.
