Sophia Balagamwala

Born in 1987, Karachi, Pakistan Sophia Balagamwala is an artist, illustrator and curator based in Karachi. She has a BA from the University of Toronto and an MFA from Cornell University. She has worked in a curatorial capacity at the Citizens Archive of Pakistan since 2011, and is currently the Lead Curator for National History Museum at the Greater Iqbal Park, Lahore. Her works explore the space where history meets fiction and nonsense. She is interested in how stories are constructed, in particular, the myths of national heroes and national histories.
