Whispers of the Wild
1st October 2025 - 18th October 2025
'Whispers of the Wild' a group exhibition curated by Qasim Bugti that features the works of Aasim Akhtar, Atif Khan, Jamil Baloch, Minaa Haroon, Munawar Ali Syed, Rahat Naveed Masud and Romessa Khan.
Whispers of the Wild brings together seven Pakistani artists whose practices converge on a shared concern: the quiet disappearance of the creatures that once animated our gardens, skies, rivers, and forests. From the everyday presence of sparrows, butterflies, and fireflies to the endangered species unique to our land, this exhibition listens to what is fading, what remains, and what demands our care.
The works presented here are not only recollections of memory but also urgent reflections on the ecological crises that surround us. Industrial expansion, urban development, pollution, deforestation, and climate change have all played their part in silencing these voices of the natural world. The participating artists, through diverse mediums and approaches, bring forward both the emotional resonance and the stark realities of this loss.
Some of the works return us to childhood moments, where a butterfly or a ladybird could spark wonder; others confront us with the fragility of ecosystems and the consequences of neglect.
Whispers of the Wild is not merely an exhibition, but a continuing responsibility. It reminds us that the delicate balance of nature depends on our willingness to notice, to question, and to act.
