WHO WE ARE, HERE WE BECOME

29th November 2025 - 27th December 2025

VM Art Gallery is proud to present ‘Who We Are, Here We Become’. This exhibition brings together the visual worlds of Faiz Supro and Subtain Hassan Ghazi, two artists who explore the nuanced processes through which identity forms, persists, integrates, dissolves, and re-emerges. The exhibition opens on Saturday, November 29th,2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and will continue till Saturday, December 27th, 2025, with gallery timings from 11 am to 7 pm Monday to Saturday.

Faiz Supro’s practice reflects the vibrancy of cultural identity through scenes drawn from everyday life. His pen-rendered compositions combine rich shades of black with vivid colours and motifs drawn from Sindh’s visual vocabulary. Through this interplay of line, pattern, and colour, Supro captures the cultural spirit and subtle joys embedded in simple moments. His work preserves and affirms identity and heritage in a way that feels expressive and resilient in the simplest gestures of an ordinary day.

Subtain Hassan Ghazi’s work tells an eternal, sublime story in which nature, decay, and renewal coexist as a single continuum. In this cycle of growth and dissolution, every being reconnects with all that preceded it while keeping its identity intact. Central to his exploration is what he terms “The Mother’s Lap”, the unseen helper, a divine force that holds all life in a state of intactness and interconnectedness. His intricate, chromatic imagery reflects a trans-universe journey in which identity persists and expands rather than disappears.

Together, both artists create a dialogue on becoming as they reflect on how identity is shaped across the shifting rhythms of existence.
