This work is based on the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) called Hadith of Jibreel where angel Jibreel appeared in human form and spoke with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions about levels of faith and the signs of the end of times. This work also includes patterns from the resting place of three saints who spread Islam in Lahore: Syed Muhammad Ishaq, Mian Mir and Ali Hajveri.

The artwork is up to be viewed at VM Art Gallery as a part of the ongoing exhibition “Zikr Volume III”. The exhibition is up to be viewed till the 10th of April, Monday to Saturday, 11am to 5pm.

VM Art Gallery is pleased to present Zikr, Volume III, an exhibition that brings together the Islamic spiritual art of Alefiya Abbas Ali and Saba Qureshi in a two-person show. Through their unique explorations, perspectives and visual vocabularies, Saba Qureshi and Alefiya Abbas delve into profound spiritual dimensions of the Islamic faith and remembrance of the divine. Their work also serves as a poignant call for compassion, unity, peace, love, and faith during these challenging times, with a dedicated focus on expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine.

The show’s opening will take place on Monday, March 18th 2024, from 3pm to 5pm and will continue till Wednesday, April 10th 2024 with gallery timings from 11am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.

This year’s Emerging Talent exhibition features artworks of graduates from 21 institutes across the country. In its 19th season, Emerging Talent has remained a distinctive event, catering to both seasoned and young collectors.

The Emerging Talent Exhibition holds a significant place in VM Art Gallery’s curatorial calendar and has been a pioneering platform since its establishment in 2003. This unique exhibition brings together fresh graduate works from across the country with the goal of celebrating diverse bodies of artwork and facilitating engaging discussions about the various pedagogical approaches practiced in different institutions. It serves as a launchpad for emerging artists, providing them with the opportunity to showcase their work in a professional gallery setting. Through this platform, gallerists, collectors, and artists gain a valuable opportunity to observe the evolving landscape of contemporary art practices in Pakistan.
