Lawrence Arthur Colley Panton

Lawrence Arthur Colley Panton was born in England in 1894 but moved to Canada at the age of 17. After his service in the army during 1916-1919, he studied art after returning from the war. Panton worked at Rous and Mann as a designer in Toronto up until 1924. Later on, he began his teaching career, first at the Central Technical School and then at Western Technical School (1926-37), Northern Vocational School (1937-51) and finally principal of the Ontario College of Art (1951-54).
