A Call Upon The Earth

VM Art Gallery is proud to present A Call Upon the Earth, a selection of works by Riffat Alvi. Paying homage to her practice, this exhibition aims to celebrate Alvi’s use of earth and nature to create beautiful works of art. Her work is an investigation into the limitations and possibilities of the medium, clay. Using natural interventions and configurations by the medium, Alvi’s work takes an organic form. Moreover, the inclusion of different types of sand, gravel and twigs, delineates Alvi’s relationship with the nature.
